The Yassified Mona Lisa by Klaudia Plotka is a playful reimagining of one of the world’s most recognisable paintings. Inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, the work gives the iconic figure a more glamorous and curvalicious character, reflecting Klaudia’s love of humour and the silly side of art.

The traditional landscape behind the Mona Lisa has been replaced with a sky filled with clouds. This personal detail is a nod to Klaudia’s name, as well as her love of clouds. It also reflects her astrological chart, with her Sun, Moon and Rising signs all belonging to the air element, therefore making the cloud filled background a playful representation of her own identity.

Painted entirely in acrylic on canvas, the piece took over 35 hours to complete, with careful attention given to the details, expression and layered cloudscape.
